A TOUGH DAY OUT IN TOULOUSE
Match Report by Karl ROBSON
The Paris Cockatoos made their way down to Toulouse to play Toulouse A with a reduced number of players compared to usual. A situation that was not helped by key midfielder Julien DAGOIS running off the field to the far away changerooms in search of his tiger balm 30 seconds before the match was due to start!
With only one player on the bench and Toulouse fielding a strong team as they often do at home, the Cockatoos fought hard in the first quarter to maintain contact with Toulouse going into quarter time, however things began to unravel in the second quarter with Toulouse taking a strong lead into the break. The Cockatoos battled hard to stop the match from becoming a blowout, but with legs tiring the chances of the ‘toos winning the match were unfortunately gone.
A special mention to Conor BARTLEY who rucked all day with only the occasional rest at full forward as well as senior player Jean ROSADO who battled through despite not being able to get a much needed break on the bench. A massive effort by the entire and forward and back lines who basically didn’t come off all day as rotations were limited to the midfielders. The toos look forward to their next match in Paris against Toulouse 1 to try regain momentum heading into finals.
